Job Description

We are seeking a Laboratory Scientist to join our dedicated team in Durban. This role involves conducting research and experiments to advance our product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory techniques and a passion for scientific discovery.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality laboratory tests and experiments in accordance with established protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Analyze complex data sets using statistical software and present findings to the team.
• Develop new laboratory techniques and optimize existing methods for efficiency.
• Ensure the proper documentation and labeling of all samples and reagents.
• Collaborate with external partners and vendors to source required materials and equipment.
• Engage in troubleshooting any technical issues that arise during experiments.
• Participate in project planning and timeline management to meet research objectives.
• Contribute to scientific publications and presentations as needed.
• Assist in managing laboratory inventory and ordering supplies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology or related field
• PhD is a significant advantage

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in laboratory research, with a focus on assay development.
