Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Housing Officer to join our team in Durban. This role involves coordinating housing initiatives, assisting with tenant relations, and promoting sustainable housing practices within the community. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of housing policies and the ability to navigate complex situations with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate housing programs to support low-income families.
• Liaise with contractors and service providers for maintenance and repairs.
• Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote housing services.
• Evaluate housing policies to ensure they meet community needs.
• Assist in resolving disputes related to housing matters.
• Provide training and support to junior staff in the department.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or Community Development

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role
