Job Description

We are seeking an Urban Planner to lead various urban development projects based in Stellenbosch. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting land-use studies, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with zoning regulations to facilitate sustainable community development.

Responsibilities

  • Perform demographic and geographic analysis to inform planning processes.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to design urban and landscape plans.
  • Monitor and assess project developments to ensure they align with approved plans.
  • Create and maintain GIS databases for the management of urban planning data.
  • Engage with community stakeholders to assess needs and preferences about urban development.
  • Draft proposals and manage applications for land-use permissions.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related field
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning is preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in urban planning or related field
