Job Description

We are on the hunt for a proactive Site Safety Manager to oversee and enhance safety protocols within our construction sites in Cape Town. This role demands a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of safety regulations to protect our workforce and the public.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety meetings and training sessions for site personnel.
  • Ensure personal protective equipment (PPE) usage is enforced on-site.
  • Review subcontractor safety performance and compliance.
  • Participate in project planning meetings to ensure safety considerations are integrated.
  • Establish and maintain safety signage and communication tools around the site.
  • Provide safety coaching and support to site supervisors.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of safety programs and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Develop and manage site-specific safety plans.
  • Conduct regular safety assessments to identify hazards.
  • Keep abreast of changes in safety legislation and ensure compliance.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
  • Postgraduate degree is an advantage
Experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in construction-related safety roles
