Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Durban. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating risks and determining insurance coverage and pricing. You will analyze client information and make informed underwriting decisions to minimize the company's exposure while ensuring profitability.

Responsibilities

• Assess risk factors associated with insurance policies.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for underwriting processes.
• Engage with claims teams to analyze and resolve systemic issues.
• Assist in training new underwriters on company policies.
• Review and recommend changes to underwriting procedures as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting roles

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software Proficiency
• Financial Modelling

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Associate in Commercial Underwriting (ACU)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
