Job Description

We are on the hunt for a skilled Actuary to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. This position entails using statistical analysis to calculate risks, assess insurance policies, and provide insights that guide our decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of actuarial science and have experience in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex calculations related to insurance and investment risks.
• Enhance existing models and propose new solutions.
• Assist in the development of new insurance products.
• Conduct training sessions for less experienced analysts.
• Work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, or related field
• Master's degree in Actuarial Science is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance or risk management

Certifications

• International Actuarial Association (IAA) Membership

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Experience with predictive modeling: Background in developing models to project future trends based on historical data.
