Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our dynamic team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in diagnosing and treating a variety of animal health issues, performing surgeries, and providing exceptional care to pets and livestock.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals for clinical signs of disease and injury.
• Develop treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of pets.
• Mentor and train junior veterinary staff and interns.
• Collaborate with specialists for advanced diagnostic and therapeutic options.
• Contribute to the operational efficiency of the clinic through effective management of resources.

Requirements

Education

• BVSc or equivalent
• Postgraduate qualifications in veterinary medicine are advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a clinical setting is required

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

• Membership in the South African Veterinary Association: Active membership is a plus.
