Job Description

The Telegraph Editor will oversee all editorial content, ensuring accuracy, quality, and relevance. Working closely with a dedicated team of reporters and designers, you will manage the newsroom's operations, set strategic direction, and maintain impactful relationships with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead editorial meetings to brainstorm and assign story pitches.
  • Edit and approve articles to ensure clarity, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain editorial policies and best practices.
  • Encourage and mentor junior editors and reporters.
  • Utilize analytics and feedback to enhance content engagement.
  • Conduct interviews and research to guide story development.
  • Champion diversity and inclusivity in editorial content.
  • Cultivate a supportive environment that promotes creativity and innovation.
  • Adjust editorial strategies based on audience trends and feedback.
  • Ensure ethical and legal standards are upheld in all journalistic practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Postgraduate qualification in journalism or media studies is preferred

  • Proven track record of producing high-quality news and feature content for reputable publications
