Urban Planner

Job Description

We are seeking an Urban Planner to join our Pretoria team. In this role, you will engage in urban planning projects that enhance the quality of life for our communities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in urban design and be proficient in working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop sustainable urban environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead urban planning projects from inception to completion.
• Research and analyze socio-economic and environmental data that inform planning decisions.
• Assist in the preparation of grant applications for urban development funding.
• Create visual presentations to effectively communicate urban planning concepts.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver community-enhancing projects.
• Evaluate potential sites for urban development based on various criteria.
• Promote sustainable practices within urban planning frameworks.
• Contribute to strategic planning documents for long-term city development.
• Develop partnerships with local organizations to enhance community involvement.
• Review and refine designs based on constructive feedback from stakeholders.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Urban Studies or related field
• Master's degree in Town and Regional Planning is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in urban planning, landscape architecture, or related field
