Join our team in Durban as an Insurance Underwriter! You will play a key role in determining coverage for our clients by thoroughly reviewing applications, performing risk assessments, and collaborating with other departments to strengthen our underwriting strategy.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex insurance applications and cross-reference information.
• Decide on policy acceptance or rejection based on thorough evaluations.
• Implement company underwriting guidelines effectively.
• Engage with clients to clarify application details and assist in completion.
• Participate in meetings to refine underwriting strategy and processes.
• Proactively communicate with stakeholders regarding underwriting decisions.
• Identify trends in underwriting data to improve risk management.
• Prepare and maintain accurate underwriting files and records.
• Review and recommend modifications to existing policies.
• Conduct audits of underwriting processes to ensure compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in insurance underwriting
