Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our compassionate team at Veterinary Care Group. This role requires expertise in diagnosing and treating various animal conditions, performing surgeries, and providing exceptional care to our furry patients.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor junior veterinarians and interns.
• Participate in continuing education opportunities.
• Implement and follow clinic protocols and policies.
• Conduct emergency procedures when necessary.
• Develop client relationships to enhance patient care.
• Document all interactions and treatments in the patient files.
• Support the team in achieving clinic goals and objectives.

Requirements

Education

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
• Specialization in surgery or emergency care is an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in a veterinary role

Technical Skills

• Anesthesia Administration
• Radiology Skills

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Organizational Skills

Certifications

• Member of the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
• Pet First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with Veterinary Software: Experience using veterinary practice management software like Vet Blue.
• Knowledge of Animal Behaviour: Understanding of animal behaviour and training techniques.
