Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, determining coverage amounts, and pricing insurance policies based on risk assessment. This role requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of insurance industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of insurance applications to determine risk.
• Develop customized insurance solutions for clients.
• Liaise with stakeholders to enhance underwriting policies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records of underwriting decisions.
• Provide training and guidance to junior underwriting staff.
• Review policies for compliance with legal and industry standards.
• Support initiatives to improve underwriting efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional underwriting designation is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred
