Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Durban. The ideal candidate will evaluate insurance applications, analyze risk, and determine coverage limits. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive appropriate and fair coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Assess applications and underwriting information to determine coverage eligibility.
  • Review and analyze market trends for competitive underwriting.
  • Engage in continuous learning to improve underwriting skills.
  • Work closely with claims and legal departments to address complex cases.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and agents.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management on underwriting performance.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or related field
  • Postgraduate qualifications are an advantage
Experience
  • 5 years of experience in the underwriting field
