Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Neuropsychiatrist to join our team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate should possess a strong commitment to patient care and a passion for helping individuals with neurological and psychiatric disorders. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive neuropsychiatric evaluations and diagnose conditions.
  • Create and modify treatment plans based on patient progress.
  • Oversee the prescription and administration of psychotropic medications.
  • Deliver counselling services to patients and their families.
  • Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate health records.
  • Attend workshops and seminars to stay abreast of advancements in neuropsychiatry.
  • Safeguard patient information and adhere to legal and ethical guidelines.
  • Assist in training and supervising junior medical staff.
  • Collaborate with neurologists and psychologists for integrated patient care.
  • Engage in community outreach programs to raise awareness of mental health.

Requirements

Education
  • Medical degree from an accredited institution
  • Specialization in Psychiatry and Neurology
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Neuropsychiatrist
