Job Description

A Certified Low Vision Therapist (CLVT) is integral to our team. You will provide comprehensive rehabilitation services to individuals with low vision, working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our clients. Your expertise will be vital in developing personalized treatment plans aimed at enhancing functional vision.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed low vision evaluations to assess patients' unique needs
• Create personalized rehabilitation strategies aiming to maximize patient independence
• Engage with patients and their families to provide emotional and psychological support
• Work with multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient care
• Provide training on assistive devices and technology for daily living tasks
• Conduct group therapy sessions to foster support among individuals with low vision
• Document evaluations and treatment progress accurately
• Participate in healthcare seminars to promote low vision awareness
• Collaborate with occupational therapists to enhance patients' functional abilities
• Engage in continuous professional development to uphold best practices

Requirements

Education

• Certification as a Low Vision Therapist (CLVT)
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy or related fields is preferred

Experience

• Preferred experience working with patients who have low vision

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with low-vision aids
• Familiarity with rehabilitation technologies

Soft Skills

• Critical thinking
• Strong organizational skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in conducting group therapy sessions: Ability to facilitate support groups for patients with visual impairments.
