Job Description

As an Urban Planner at Urban Innovations Ltd., you will be responsible for guiding urban projects from conception through implementation. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that planning processes are effective and inclusive.

Responsibilities

  • Lead community engagement efforts to gather feedback on urban plans.
  • Assess zoning laws and provide recommendations for changes.
  • Create land-use plans that align with local development objectives.
  • Utilize technology to visualize urban planning concepts.
  • Prepare applications for development permits and approvals.
  • Conduct impact assessments on transportation, housing, and infrastructure.
  • Liaise with external consultants and contractors during project phases.
  • Train and mentor junior planning staff.
  • Participate in professional organizations and continuing education.
  • Document and track project milestones and outcomes.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or a related discipline
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning or Environmental Studies preferred
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in urban design or city planning
