Job Description

We are in search of a Mechanical Engineer to join our skilled team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the design, development, and implementation of innovative mechanical systems. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and creative thinking to tackle complex engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and design reviews.
• Collaborate with the design team to create innovative engineering solutions.
• Prepare and present technical documentation and reports.
• Conduct testing to ensure compliance with safety and industry standards.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and propose effective solutions.
• Attend project meetings and provide engineering insights.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on engineering practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Master's Degree in Engineering Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years working in the mechanical engineering field

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Project Management Software (MS Project, Asana)

Soft Skills

• Time Management
• Leadership

Certifications

• Six Sigma Green Belt
• Lean Manufacturing Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with PLM software: Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management software to manage product data.
• Knowledge of ISO standards: Understanding of ISO standards in quality management within manufacturing.
