We are on the lookout for an ambitious Mechanical Engineer to contribute to our exciting projects based in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in mechanical design, development, and testing, and will thrive in a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs and specifications tailored to our clients' needs.
• Utilize analytical tools to enhance design and testing procedures.
• Collaborate with clients to identify project requirements.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts when mechanical issues arise.
• Prepare reports and present design proposals to stakeholders.
• Coordinate with quality assurance on product testing and compliance.
• Train staff on new equipment and procedures.
• Conduct regular project reviews to ensure timelines are met.
• Explore innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering discipline
• Postgraduate degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering roles

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Thermodynamics
• Project Management Software

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Leadership

Certifications

• Lean Manufacturing Certification
• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in product lifecycle management: Knowledge of PLM software and processes to manage product data.
• Previous project leadership experience: Experience managing teams and leading projects to successful completion.
