Job Description

We are on the lookout for a passionate Grant Writer to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have a knack for storytelling and a strong understanding of funding mechanisms. You'll be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to secure funding for our projects.

Responsibilities

• Craft narrative descriptions, goals, and objectives for grant applications.
• Collect and report on data to measure project impact for funders.
• Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and deadlines.
• Provide feedback to continuous improvement in proposal writing.
• Engage in capacity building for staff on grant writing best practices.
• Coordinate with external partners for collaborative grant applications.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in grant writing, specifically in the non-profit sector

Technical Skills

• Proposal Development

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in community engagement: Knowledge of community-driven development processes.
• Previous experience with online fundraising platforms: Familiarity with tools like GoFundMe, JustGiving, or similar.
