Pharmacist

Job Description

As a Pharmacist at Local Health Pharmacy in Johannesburg, you will engage with patients daily, guide them in their medication therapies, and ensure compliance with health regulations. We're looking for someone proactive who can contribute to our goal of improving community health.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for safety and appropriateness.
• Advise on over-the-counter medications for minor ailments.
• Educate patients on lifestyle choices that improve health.
• Conduct health screenings and help manage chronic disease therapies.
• Supervise pharmacy technician staff and ensure compliance with pharmacy laws.
• Handle prescription renewals and provide patient follow-ups.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized pharmacy environment.
• Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)
• Membership in South African Pharmaceutical Association is preferred

Experience

• Experience in retail pharmacy is preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of alternative medicine practices: Experience with complementary therapies is a plus.
• Proficiency in acute care pharmacy: Experience working in an acute care setting is advantageous.
