Job Description

We are on the lookout for a meticulous Insurance Underwriter to join our growing team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a knack for assessing risk in various insurance applications, ensuring the best possible coverage options for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze insurance applications and supporting documents.
• Calculate risk ratings and recommend appropriate policy terms.
• Assist clients with policy renewals and modifications.
• Research industry-specific risks and demographic data.
• Provide underwriting support to sales teams during client interactions.
• Identify potential areas for improvement in underwriting processes.
• Conduct audits of underwriting files for accuracy and compliance.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field
• Relevant certification such as Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

• Associate in Claims (AIC)

• English: Fluent
