Job Description

As an Actuary in Durban, you will be responsible for calculating financial outcomes and improving the overall performance through risk assessment. This position entails working closely with our finance and underwriting teams to ensure effective pricing models and policies. You should have a passion for problem-solving and be comfortable handling large datasets. Your insights will directly impact our business strategy and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Analyze data to identify trends and forecast future financial scenarios.
• Communicate findings to clients and stakeholders effectively.
• Assist in the development of new insurance products and services.
• Review and refine existing actuarial models to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT to enhance data management systems.
• Participate in audits and regulatory examinations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or Finance
• Master's degree in Actuarial Science is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a relevant role

Technical Skills

• Financial Analysis Software (e.g., Prophet)

Soft Skills

• Team Collaboration

Certifications

• Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries (FSA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
