Job Description

We're on the lookout for a talented Bridge Engineer to join our team in George. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of bridges, ensuring they're safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. Your expertise will help us support vital infrastructure projects across the region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design phase of bridge projects and define structural requirements.
  • Draft specifications and contracts for bridge construction.
  • Conduct value engineering to optimize project costs without sacrificing quality.
  • Implement quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare project proposals and presentations for potential clients.
  • Supervise field investigations and testing of materials.
  • Facilitate collaboration between disciplines, including environmental and traffic engineering.
  • Analyze data to improve design recommendations and solutions.
  • Develop maintenance strategies for post-construction bridge management.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Master's degree is an advantage
Experience
  • 8+ years of experience in civil or bridge engineering
