Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Actuarial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Cape Town. This role will involve conducting detailed analysis, developing actuarial models, and providing insights to help guide decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a background in actuarial science and experience with statistical software, contributing to crucial projects focused on risk assessment and financial forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Utilize statistical software to perform actuarial calculations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of current products and suggest improvements.
• Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing data integrity and quality.
• Collaborate with IT to improve actuarial systems and tools.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or Finance
• Higher qualifications in actuarial science are advantageous

Experience

• Experience with data analysis and statistical modelling preferred

Technical Skills

• Statistical Analysis Software (SAS)
• Visual Basic for Applications (VBA)

Soft Skills

• Attention to detail
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) or equivalent is a plus
