Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and experience in assessing risk for various insurance products. You will be responsible for evaluating insurance applications, determining coverage limits, and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments to determine insurability of applicants.
• Review and approve or decline insurance applications based on established criteria.
• Collaborate with the claims department to assess risk exposure and process claims.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing queries and concerns promptly.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all underwriting activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance industry

Certifications

• Fellow of the Insurance Institute (III)
