Job Description

As a Veterinarian at Durban Animal Hospital, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating a variety of animal conditions. You will work with our dedicated team to ensure high standards of animal care and patient management. You will also be involved in preventive care, education, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Examine animals to diagnose health issues.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments.
• Conduct surgeries and dental procedures.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required.
• Educate clients on animal care, health, and behavior.
• Collaborate effectively with team members.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of veterinary medicine.
• Participate in ongoing training and development.
• Engage in client communication and relationship building.
• Ensure adherence to all safety and health regulations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc)
• Registration with the South African Veterinary Council

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in veterinary practice

Technical Skills

• Veterinary Medicine
• Surgery

Certifications

• Veterinary Medicine Degree
• Surgical Certification (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with exotic animals: Ability to treat and care for exotic pets.
