Bioinformatics Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Bioinformatics Analyst to join our innovative medical research team in Stellenbosch. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of genomic data analysis, as well as experience in statistical software and bioinformatics tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform statistical analysis of biological data sets.
• Create and maintain documentation for bioinformatics processes and protocols.
• Collaborate on multidisciplinary research projects to achieve common goals.
• Evaluate new bioinformatics tools and technologies.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project progress and challenges.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Genetics, or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in bioinformatics or related field

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with cloud computing platforms: Knowledge of using cloud platforms like AWS for bioinformatics workflows.
