Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

As an Insurance Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and approving insurance applications based on risk factors. You'll work closely with agents and clients to ensure the best possible insurance solutions are provided, contributing towards our long-term goals in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Analyze potential risks associated with insurance applications.
• Collaborate with peers in reviewing complex underwriting issues.
• Prepare and present underwriting proposals to senior management.
• Administer and maintain underwriting databases effectively.
• Interface with clients to gather necessary information for decisions.
• Participate in training and development sessions to enhance skills.
• Evaluate new business and renewal submissions diligently.
• Aid in defining underwriting policies and procedures.
• Review and analyse losses to adjust criteria as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance or Risk Management
• Master's degree is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum 5 years underwriting experience preferred
