Job Description

We are on the hunt for a talented Cloud Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and experience with DevOps practices. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based solutions that enhance operational efficiency and scalability.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and recommend cloud technologies to improve efficiency.
• Develop best practices for cloud architecture and security.
• Assist in the migration of legacy systems to cloud platforms.
• Engage in capacity planning and resource allocation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Perform regular audits of cloud resources to ensure cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Master's degree is an added advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in cloud services and DevOps practices

Technical Skills

• Terraform
• Ansible

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Time Management

Certifications

• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or Bash: Ability to automate tasks and manage cloud resources effectively.
• Familiarity with networking concepts and security protocols: Understanding of networking fundamentals and security best practices.
