Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Dentist to join our growing practice in Pietermaritzburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating various dental conditions, providing preventative care, and educating patients on proper oral hygiene. A friendly demeanor and excellent communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments to evaluate emotional and psychological wellbeing.
• Create and execute therapeutic interventions tailored to individual patients.
• Work closely with family members to support overall well-being.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest psychological research and practices.
• Advocate for patient needs and rights within the healthcare system.
• Document treatment outcomes and share with the healthcare team.

Requirements

Education

• Doctorate in Clinical Psychology
• Registration with the Health Professions Council is preferable

Experience

• 5 years of clinical experience preferred

Technical Skills

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
• Group Therapy Facilitation

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Certification in Dialectical Behavior Therapy

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Conversational

• Proficiency in multiple languages: Ability to communicate effectively in several languages is an asset.
• Experience in a private practice setting: Background in private practice work is preferred.
