Victim Advocate

Job Description

As a Victim Advocate, you will provide essential support and advocacy services to victims of crime and their families. You will collaborate closely with law enforcement, social services, and community organizations to ensure that victims can access the resources and emotional support they need.

Responsibilities

• Offer crisis intervention and safety planning to victims in distress.
• Work closely with legal entities to ensure that victims' needs are prioritized.
• Promote community awareness about resources available for victims.
• Document all interactions and maintain detailed case notes on a timely basis.
• Support victims in accessing financial resources for recovery and healing.
• Facilitate workshops to educate the community about victim issues.
• Engage with external stakeholders to enhance the services offered.
• Participate in outreach activities for victim services.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community organizations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field

Experience

• 2+ years in victim advocacy or social services.

Technical Skills

• Case Management Software

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience working with marginalized communities: Valuable experience in supporting diverse populations, including marginalized communities.
