Materials Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Materials Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing various engineering projects from initiation to completion, working closely with project teams, clients, and stakeholders. This role requires both technical expertise and excellent communication skills to ensure that project objectives are met efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead materials testing and evaluation to ensure project compliance.
• Optimize materials usage to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects in selecting materials.
• Execute detailed materials research and development tasks.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers in project methodologies.
• Engage with suppliers to ensure timely procurement of materials.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure materials meet required specifications.
• Manage relationships with contractors and assist in troubleshooting.
• Participate in contract negotiations with suppliers.
• Prepare technical specifications for materials and equipment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in project management within the materials engineering sector
