Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in Stellenbosch. In this role, you will support the teaching staff in the delivery of educational content, assist with classroom management and engage with students to foster a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instructional support to students in various subjects.
• Facilitate group activities and encourage teamwork among students.
• Assist with the integration of technology in the classroom.
• Support teachers in assessing student performance.
• Help manage classroom behaviors and provide feedback to students.
• Assist in developing instructional materials tailored to student needs.
• Participate in professional development opportunities.
• Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Education or equivalent

Experience

• Prior experience volunteering or working with children is preferred

Technical Skills

• Child Development Understanding
• Literacy and Numeracy Skills

Soft Skills

• Teamwork
• Adaptability

Certifications

• CPR and First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in tutoring: Background in providing additional academic support to students outside of regular lessons.
• Bilingual abilities: Ability to communicate in both English and Afrikaans is an asset.
