Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design, analysis, and project execution. You will be involved in designing mechanical systems, conducting feasibility studies, and working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects from concept to implementation.
• Perform calculations and simulations for system optimization.
• Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure quality standards.
• Conduct testing and validation of mechanical systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) status is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Time Management

Certifications

• Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in CAD Software: Expertise in using CAD software for mechanical design.
• Knowledge of HVAC Systems: Experience with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
