Security Engineer

Job Description

We are actively seeking a skilled Security Engineer to join our team in Cape Town. This role entails designing and implementing security protocols to protect our systems from cyber threats. You will collaborate closely with development teams to ensure secure software development practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective security standards.
• Monitor network traffic for unusual activity.
• Verify compliance with security policies and regulations.
• Review and update the incident response plan as necessary.
• Educate and inform employees about security best practices.
• Create reports on security incidents and measures taken.
• Engage in collaborative efforts to develop a robust security strategy.
• Maintain documentation of security processes and threats.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant work experience
