Chemical Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a skilled Chemical Engineer in Port Elizabeth who will be responsible for developing and designing processes for chemical manufacturing. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate strong analytical skills to optimize production processes while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor production processes for chemical manufacturing.
• Carry out risk assessments on current processes.
• Research and adapt new technologies in chemical engineering.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive successful project outcomes.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Train junior engineers and support staff.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Chemical Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in a similar role

• Chemical Process Simulation

Certifications

• Certified Energy Manager

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of bioengineering processes: Experience with renewable or sustainable chemical processes.
