Job Description

We are in search of a meticulous Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will assess insurance applications, determine risk levels, and set appropriate premium rates.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessment by analyzing applicant data.
• Determine coverage terms and policy limits.
• Enhance underwriting processes to reduce turnaround time.
• Develop training materials for new underwriters.
• Engage in continuous professional development and training.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss underwriting strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management or related field

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience preferred

• Insurance Software

Certifications

• Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
