Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Mental Health Counsellor to join our team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing therapy to individuals facing mental health challenges. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of psychological principles and a commitment to improving the wellbeing of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and intake interviews.
  • Design and implement effective treatment strategies.
  • Provide ongoing support to clients throughout their treatment journey.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all client interactions.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training.
  • Advocate for clients' needs within the healthcare system.
  • Participate in community mental health initiatives.
  • Collaborate with case managers and other professionals.
  • Assist clients in setting and achieving personal goals.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational programs for clients and families.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field
  • Master's degree preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in mental health services
