Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our passionate team at Local Veterinary Clinic in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating ailments amongst a variety of animal species, including dogs, cats, and exotic pets. Your expertise will ensure that our patients receive the highest standard of care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform medical examinations and diagnoses on various animal species.
  • Administer vaccinations and medications as per treatment plans.
  • Execute surgical and non-surgical procedures efficiently.
  • Develop health plans for pets and discuss options with owners.
  • Educate clients on animal health, nutrition, and preventative care.
  • Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other veterinarians for patient care.
  • Participate in community outreach programs to promote animal welfare.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science, postgraduate studies preferred
  • Registration with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
Experience
  • 5+ years of diverse veterinary experience
