Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a Structural Engineer with a keen eye for detail and a passion for innovative design to join our growing team in Knysna. The ideal candidate will have experience in various structural projects and be comfortable handling the challenges associated with structural loads and building codes. You will work on exciting projects, contributing to the future of sustainable building.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed engineering calculations and simulations.
• Work with project managers to facilitate project delivery.
• Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for projects.
• Assist in the development of engineering standards and procedures.
• Coordinate with contractors during construction phases.
• Participate in design review meetings and provide feedback.
• Analyze data and make project recommendations.
• Document all engineering processes and methodologies.
• Lead design projects from conception to completion.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in structural engineering

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• SAP2000
• Revit
• MATLAB

Soft Skills

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) certification
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
