Responsibilities

• Evaluating client specifications and project constraints.
• Utilizing CAD software to create structural drawings and models.
• Researching new materials and methods to improve design efficiency.
• Conducting load analysis for various structural components.
• Teaching and fostering knowledge in junior engineers through workshops.
• Managing project budgets and timelines effectively.
• Documenting all design methodologies for future reference.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in structural design

Technical Skills

• Structural Analysis Software
• Geotechnical Analysis

Certifications

• LEED Certification
• Civil Engineer registration

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with energy-efficient design: Hands-on experience with energy-efficient structural designs.
• Knowledge of international building codes: Experience with building codes applicable in South Africa and internationally.
