DevOps Engineer

We are on the lookout for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our thriving team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be pivotal in streamlining our development operations while ensuring effective cloud infrastructure management. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and select cloud service providers based on project requirements.
• Facilitate troubleshooting sessions and lead incident response efforts.
• Contribute to the development of infrastructure as code (IaC).
• Ensure security best practices are applied across all environments.
• Maintain backups and disaster recovery plans for infrastructure.
• Participate in regular code reviews and team meetings.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in software development with DevOps experience

Technical Skills

• Kubernetes
• Monitoring Tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Scripting Languages (Python, Bash)

Soft Skills

• Adaptability
• Leadership

Certifications

• Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with security best practices: Understanding of security frameworks and compliance.
• Knowledge of cloud storage solutions: Experience with databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.
