Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at enhancing the functional abilities of patients recovering from various conditions. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, advocate for patient needs and document progress effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assess physical and psychosocial needs of patients.
  • Create treatment plans tailored to individual patient goals.
  • Work with insurance companies to secure therapy approvals.
  • Evaluate and modify treatment approaches based on patient feedback.
  • Provide training for support staff and junior therapists.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in therapy practices.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Engage in professional development and continuing education.
  • Utilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment in therapy.
  • Encourage patient participation in community support activities.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA)
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in an occupational therapy setting
