Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Actuary to join our Johannesburg office. The ideal candidate will leverage statistical and analytical methods to evaluate risk, particularly within the insurance and finance sectors. You'll be involved in designing and analyzing complex models to support business decisions and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed analysis of financial data and present findings.
• Support the compliance and regulatory reporting process with accurate actuarial evaluations.
• Work with cross-functional teams to assess and manage project risks.
• Conduct peer reviews of actuarial work performed by colleagues.
• Keep an eye on technological advancements that can streamline actuarial tasks.
• Prepare breach analysis and scenario modeling for pertaining risks.

Requirements

Education

• BSc in Mathematics or Statistics
• Actuarial Associate (AA) status or equivalent preferred

Experience

• 4+ years in actuarial consulting or relevant experience

Technical Skills

• Financial Modeling
• Programming (R, Python)

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Detail-oriented

Certifications

• Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational
