Job Description

As an Administrative Law Judge, you will preside over hearings related to workers' compensation claims in a timely and efficient manner. Your expertise in legal principles and procedures will be essential in interpreting legislation and making informed decisions that affect the lives of claimants and employers alike.

Responsibilities

  • Preside over hearings and make determinations on cases related to workers' compensation.
  • Assess evidence and evaluate testimony presented during hearings.
  • Manage the administrative tasks associated with case files.
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of proceedings.
  • Facilitate communication among involved parties to resolve disputes.
  • Create comprehensive decisions summarizing findings and legal analyses.
  • Conduct outreach and training for stakeholders involved in hearings.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve the hearing process.
  • Stay updated on changes in legislation impacting workers' compensation.
  • Participate in professional development to enhance adjudicative skills.

Requirements

Education
  • A law degree from a recognized institution
  • Postgraduate qualification in administrative law or labour law is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in workers' compensation or administrative law, with a focus on dispute resolution

Advantageous
