Public Health Specialist

Job Description

As a Public Health Specialist, you will engage with a range of stakeholders to evaluate and enhance current public health initiatives. We're looking for an individual passionate about health equity with the skills to design effective health interventions.

Responsibilities

• Research current public health trends and apply findings to local initiatives.
• Facilitate community outreach programs to increase health awareness.
• Coordinate with government agencies and NGOs to support public health initiatives.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of public health policies and make recommendations for improvements.
• Manage project budgets and resources efficiently.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences or equivalent
• Master's degree in Public Health is highly preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in health program management

Technical Skills

• Data visualization
• Research methodologies

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving abilities
• Networking skills

Certifications

• Public Health Administration Certification
• Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

• Familiarity with healthcare systems: Understanding of the South African healthcare system and its challenges.
• Bilingual skills: Proficiency in more than one local language is advantageous.
