Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join our skilled team in Durban. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and overseeing construction projects while ensuring that engineering principles are adhered to for quality and safety. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in civil engineering and have the ability to work collaboratively across various teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and plan civil engineering projects such as roads, bridges, and buildings.
• Ensure projects comply with environmental and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with architects and other engineers to ensure projects are on schedule.
• Prepare reports and documentation for project proposals and budgets.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and address issues.
• Utilize software for design and modelling (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Liaise with stakeholders and local authorities as necessary.
• Oversee project execution from conception to completion.
• Implement sustainable practices in designs and construction.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and interns.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering roles
