Structural Engineer

Job Description

As a Structural Engineer at Leading Engineering Firm in Pretoria, you will engage in designing and evaluating various structural systems. This role requires a mix of creativity and technical expertise, ensuring that projects meet client specifications while being structurally sound.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing structures and recommend repairs or reinforcements.
• Assist in developing project proposals and scopes of work.
• Utilize engineering software to perform simulations and modeling.
• Assist in developing and reviewing project designs for accuracy and compliance.
• Research new materials and technologies for improving design efficiency.
• Implement sustainable practices into design and construction methods.
• Assist with the recruitment and training of new engineering staff.
• Prepare for and participate in structural inspections.
• Report and document any discrepancies found during building processes.
• Develop relationships with clients and stakeholders to facilitate future projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in diverse structural projects.

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis
• Project Management Software

Soft Skills

• Communication Skills
• Analytical Skills

Certifications

• SACPCMP Registration
• LEED Green Associate (if applicable)

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Expertise in steel structure design: Extensive knowledge of designing and detailing steel structures.
