Personal Care Aide

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Help clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety.
• Assist with light meal preparation and serving.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to those in your care.
• Document the care provided and any observations regarding client well-being.
• Collaborate with nursing staff to address clients' needs effectively.
• Maintain records of care and report any concerns or changes.
• Ensure clients' comfort and dignity at all times.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 certification or equivalent
• Home Health Aide Certificate preferred

Experience

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with elderly or disabled clients.

Certifications

• CPR and First Aid Certification
• Home Health Aide Training Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Experience with non-ambulatory clients: Comfortable assisting clients with severe mobility limitations.
• Knowledge of wound care procedures: Familiarity with basic wound care and infection control measures.
