We're seeking an Actuarial Analyst who can harness data analytics to influence strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will display strong mathematical skills, a keen understanding of financial concepts, and the ability to communicate complex analyses effectively to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data to forecast profitability trends.
• Utilize software tools for data management and statistical analysis.
• Perform peer reviews on actuarial calculations to ensure accuracy.
• Respond to inquiries from management regarding financial implications.
• Maintain thorough documentation of methodologies and processes used in analysis.
• Provide support in the proposal writing process for new insurance products.
• Coordinate with IT to ensure proper use of databases and data extraction tools.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior analysts in statistical methods.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field
• Pages of relevant actuarial exams in progress or completed

Experience

• 3+ years of actuarial experience in a financial services environment

Certifications

• Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA) is highly regarded
• Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA) is advantageous
